Live Blackjack Best Strategy – How to Win the Most on Live Blackjack

I explain here online blackjack for real money optimal strategy and how you can use it to win the most playing the mathematically perfect game. Table rules are in effect, and two specific ones allow you to have an edge if you can play when they are being applied. Read more about that below.

An Introduction To Basic Blackjack Strategy

Anybody familiar with blackjack will be well aware that there is a correct mathematical way of playing the most popular casino card game. It's Basic Strategy, and when used correctly, it limits the house edge and gives the player greatest opportunity for winning. It's an accepted way of playing that some brick-and-mortar and some web-based casinos even provide guidance on using live blackjack basic strategy.

If you're used to land casinos, you'll also notice that dealers will remind you of the strategy — especially if you're about to do something silly! Most of the time when you can't remember it, you can ask for a reminder, and they'll be happy to remind you. I must briefly note Playtech Majority Rules Speed Blackjack, available at Playojo. Here, players' vote' for the action to be undertaken, and that action is applied to the hand being played.

This game of blackjack soon familiarizes you with the right playing choices!

Please Note: Do not use Basic Strategy if you’re playing Power Blackjack. For that game, you need to use a revised Power Blackjack Strategy, which has been adapted to cater for the lack of 9’s and 10’s in the playing deck.

Neil’s TOP RECOMMENDATIONS FOR LIVE BLACKJACK

If you want to play live blackjack and use the basic strategy, these are the best games with the highest RTP, best rules, and where the basic blackjack strategy is in place.

Live Blackjack Strategy

How is live blackjack strategy different from basic blackjack strategy, you ask?

Well, the correct strategy varies depending on blackjack table rules. So, if we want the correct live blackjack strategy, it must be tailored according to the table rules that you will be playing. Fortunately, most live casino software providers, Evolution, Playtech and Pragmatic, use the same Blackjack Rules for Live Blackjack.

You can read more about that in my table rules blackjack article, where I tell you which live blackjack tables have the best rules affecting RTP most favorably.

My table rules article is the precursor for you to understand what's on this page. If you don't have it, you'll struggle to understand what I am saying.

The strategy will differ when the rules differ. Two, in particular, give you an edge: Double Down After Split and Surrender.

Now, however, let's show some of the most popular live blackjack tables you need to be playing and then introduce you to the basics of the blackjack strategy.

What is Live Blackjack Basic Strategy?

Short and sweet, Blackjack's fundamental strategy is doing the proper thing with your cards based on the cards you have and what the dealer's upcard is showing.

The following are options you have available that you can do:

  • Stand – You stand with cards you already have and don't get any more.
  • Hit – You get an extra card to add to your hand.
  • Split – In this elementary Blackjack strategy here, you split two hands but just when you hold a pair.
  • Double – You take only one additional card and double the bet.
  • Surrender – You surrender your hand before the completion of the dealer's hand. The refund is normally 50% of the initial bet but it may be more when you play Blackjack Early Payout.

The basic strategy I've provided below is for a four to eight deck game, but you'll always be dealt with eight decks in live Blackjack because that's the norm on which the live casino business is based.

It also covers the surrender part of Blackjack, which isn't offered in blackjack games often enough, but some do include it.

Surrender is not often promoted as it takes money out of the house's edge, so always ask if you can surrender hands.

If you're interested, you can obtain surrender for live casino Blackjack at Playojo on the Cashback Blackjack table.

Playing blackjack without strategy is a long-term loser. While one may win in the short term, a long session will most definitely lose your bankroll unless you apply a mathematically tested strategy. A live blackjack strategy book puts you on the winning path and encompasses everything from splitting pairs to hitting, standing, doubling down, and surrender.

It is stupid not to stick to the fundamental strategy if you wish to be a long-term winner.
